Geometry Dash: One of the Most Popular Arcade Games of All Time

Geometry Dash, the original game that Geometry Dash Ultraviolet is based on, is one of the most popular arcade games of all time. Since first appearing in 2013, the game has gained a large and dedicated fanbase that continues to keep the game thriving with countless user-created levels. Recently, after seven years of waiting, the game received Update 2.2 with many new features that pushed the experience even further!

The main gameplay of Geometry Dash revolves around controlling a cube character with a single button, moving forward automatically. Each level challenges the player to navigate through obstacles and reach the end. Though simple in concept, finding the correct timing for every jump becomes increasingly difficult. The character can also change forms after passing through portals, each form having different controls — such as flying in Ship form by holding the button or flipping gravity in Ball form with each press.

Update 2.2 also introduces platformer-style levels, where the character can freely move sideways and jump upward, while still using elements like pads, rings, and portals.

Geometry Dash Ultraviolet: How to Begin

As a level begins, the character moves forward automatically. The player uses one button to jump or move upward depending on the form. To complete a level, the player must reach the end without hitting anything. Crashing resets progress instantly. For those seeking extra challenge, each level contains three hidden secret coins.

As in the original game, Geometry Dash Ultraviolet includes Normal Mode and Practice Mode. Normal Mode plays exactly as described above, while Practice Mode lets players place checkpoints to learn difficult sections. However, completing the level in Normal Mode is still required to officially beat it.

All Levels Available in Geometry Dash Ultraviolet

Geometry Dash Ultraviolet features three original levels, each with its own theme and difficulty curve.
In Active, the player is introduced to sharp timing and quick obstacles.
In Golden Haze, the glowing atmosphere and intense pacing raise the stakes.
Finally, Space Battle launches the player into a fast, interstellar challenge filled with tricky transitions and rapid gameplay.

All levels are arranged in increasing difficulty, so it’s recommended that players complete them in order. But be warned — these levels may be even more challenging than original Geometry Dash levels of similar difficulty!
